Christians can now listen to their favourite gospel songs everywhere at any time of the day.
Technology has transformed our lives in a significant way, so is music streaming. Currently, Spotify leads the way with 140 million subscribers, and Apple Inc. is playing catch up with 30 million.
Trend in music consumption has led Alphabet Inc. to the planned launch of YouTube music streaming subscription service, "Remix" [Internally codenamed], in March 2018.
The approach is a no-brainer: YouTube attracts one billion monthly users and "recording-industry executives" want more compensation for their songs.
According to Bloomberg report, Warner Music Group has signed on and hopefully independent labels, Universal Music Group and Sony Music will follow suit.
If things go as planned, Alphabet Inc. hopes to generate revenue through its audio service and subscribers would have access to video clips.
